About to launch into my first newsletter off my brand new website, http://www.inneri.co.za/ and I am pulled between two trains of thought. (Some of you would say that being a Gemini, this is normal)! On the one hand the "professional" voice says: construct an informative document! On the other: "celebrate". And celebrate we will! I would like to offer the first 10 people who call and book for either a discovery coaching session or the archetype workshop, a 10% discount. Now that we have that out of the way, we can move into the informative content. I read a thought provoking article last night around the concept of "boundaries". This word will instantly call up reactions in most of us, as we have, to some greater or lesser extent, experienced boundaries. Let me share the article with you and then pose a question to you: In an experiment, a group of young children were placed in a large open field and asked to play together. After a few minutes, the children had all huddled together in the centre of the field and only played within a very small area of the field. Later, the researchers placed a large fence around the field and noticed that the children suddenly felt free to play within the entire confines of the fenced in area... Imagine that you and your friends are taken to the TOP of a tall skyscraper. It's dark and the skyscraper has a flat roof with no railings around the edge. You are asked to put on some roller-skates and skate around the roof. What do you think will happen? Well, the most likely outcome is that you and your friends will huddle together in the centre of the roof, for fear of falling off the edge of the skyscraper. Now, imagine that the roof was illuminated with a bright light, and a sturdy barrier was placed around the edge of the roof. Chances are that the barrier around the edge of the building would give you and your friends the confidence to skate around the roof, using ALL of the available area. My question to you is this: How often in your life have you seen a boundary as restricting? Today is the day that you can start making the changes in your life, that you have been thinking about for so long. Illuminate your "dark corners" with a bright light. Engage in what is possible - look to the concept of boundaries as liberating! I invite you to visit my website http://www.inneri.co.za/ and if what you see piques your interest, call me on 083 267 8354 or drop me an email on Juanene@inneri.co.za Go on, be bold - push the boundaries! Take care, until next time Juanene P.S. Check out the website for upcoming archetype workshop dates!
